The Purple Pixie Vikings congratulate their opponents,
Team Hogan, on a game well played!

WHAT EXACTLY DOES MY REGISTRATI0N FEE COVER??
A "FULL" season in Region 512 is split into two
sub-seasons or half seasons.
The first sub-season of the year is the Fall Season and
the second sub-season is the Spring Season.
Whether your child is registered to play a
FULL season or a HALF of a season,
the registration fee of $75.00 is the same.
If your child played in our Fall Season,
they are AUTOMATICALLY registered to play in
our Spring Season. As you can see, it is cheaper
to have your child play a full season. The fee includes
the registration fee to AYSO National,
Supplemental Accident Insurance coverage,
a full uniform (shirt, shorts, & socks), and a trophy.
Thank you!!

In order to make sure we have a FUN, FAIR, and SAFE season, here are a few reminders:

(1) NO PETS ALLOWED!! For every ones safety, no pets of any kind will be allowed at any scheduled AYSO practice or game. Those who do bring pets will be asked to leave the field, take it to their car, or take it home. Coaches and referees are to help enforce this rule.

(2) No Smoking will be allowed at any scheduled AYSO practice or game.

(3) The Regional Board of Directors has adopted AYSO's Kids Zone program. All of the parents will have signed a Kids Zone Pledge Form when they registered their children to play. So, good behavior from the sidelines will be expected at all times.

(4) Every coach and assistant coach will be receiving a t-shirt that we, the Regional Board of Directors, are encouraging you to wear at EVERY game. The message to help enforce the concepts of the Kids Zone Program will be: I Coach, They Play, You Cheer!!

(5) Please remember that all of the referees are volunteers just like you and they are to be treated respectfully. In soccer, it is the referee's job to keep the game flowing fairly and safely, not to call every little foul. Soccer is a "players game" not a "coaches game".

(6) Please keep in mind that AYSO Soccer is mainly a recreational and learning league not a competitive "win at all costs" league. Although it is nice to win, that is not what we should focus on. We need to make sure the kids are learning the game of soccer while still having FUN whether they win or lose the game.

(7) Bad weather: All games are to be played even if it rains. Referees and/or coaches (at the field) may cancel a game before it starts or in the progress of playing in there are any signs of lightning or chance of a tornado. Otherwise, games will only be canceled by me or one of the other Board Members. ***As of September 18, 2006, Region 512 now has a "Bad Weather" hotline that will have updated messages concerning bad weather and game cancellations. The Bad Weather Hotline number is (810)730-1144. This phone line will NOT be answered, it is for information only.

(If you have any problems, questions, or concerns; please call our Hotline at (810)730-2585
I hope everyone has a GREAT season and I look forward to seeing you out on the fields.

Thank You,

Ron Mills
Regional Commissioner

Kids Zone

There is sometimes confusion over what "Kids Zone" means in reference to AYSO.  The Kids Zone program was created in response to concerns that sometimes youth sports have become negative-even violent in the past.  It is a gentle reminder that while competition is important, ultimately AYSO is about the kids.  Kids play sports to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills.  As coaches, parents and volunteers, we need to keep sport in its proper perspective and support them.  That means redefining what is to be a "Winner."  A Winner is more than just scoring the goal or beating the other team; a winner is someone who makes maximum effort, continues to learn and improve, and does not let mistakes or fear of making mistakes, stop him or her.
